Verify: the free public check and the AI review
The free check reads official registries with no AI and no account; the AI review weighs the wider evidence. What each covers and what neither can promise.
Side by side
| Free public check | AI review | |
|---|---|---|
| Account | Not needed | A limited number without an account; a monthly allowance with one |
| Generative AI | None | Yes |
| What it reads | Official registry records; a pasted advert for common scam signals | The company, website, recruiter contact and public records together |
| Coverage | UK, US and selected EU registries | Tuned for UK patterns for now, expanding |
| Limits | Unmetered, with technical abuse controls | Metered per plan; see pricing |
What the free check can and cannot tell you
A registry match shows that a company with that name is registered and gives details such as its status. It does not show that the person messaging you works there, or that the vacancy exists. A missing match is a reason to look closer, not proof of a scam: some legitimate employers trade under a different name or are registered elsewhere.
When you paste an advert, the checker looks for common warning signs, such as requests for upfront fees, recruiters using free email addresses and pressure to act quickly.
When the AI review is worth using
- The company is registered, but something about the recruiter or the website does not match.
- The offer arrived without a normal interview process.
- You have been asked for personal documents or money and want a second view before replying.
A worked example
Illustrative example
A message offering a remote administrator role
- Free check: the named company is registered and active.
- Pasted advert: the recruiter uses a free email address and asks for a quick decision.
- AI review: the company's own website lists a different email domain and no administrator vacancies; it suggests contacting the company through the switchboard on its website.
- Next step: the person phones the company, which confirms it is not recruiting, and reports the message.
The registry match was real; the recruiter was not connected to it.
What to do with any result
Before you reply or share anything
- Contact the employer through details you find independently, not the ones in the message.
- Do not pay for training, equipment or checks to get a job.
- Do not send identity documents or bank details before a genuine offer.
- If you think it is a scam, report it through the official reporting route where you live.
Public-record checks send the company name to official registries. AI checks process the advert or message you paste with Luceria's AI providers.
Common questions
Does a green result mean the job is safe?
No. It means the evidence Luceria could check looked consistent. Verify surfaces evidence and warning signs; it cannot certify an employer or opportunity.
Does Verify judge whether I am suitable for the job?
No. Verify is only about whether the opportunity looks legitimate. Suitability is what Fit Check is for.
